UM Project – rebirth out of destruction

Despite the ardent proclamations by designers that they’re in it for the love of their job, it’s fair to assert that for the most part they also quite like charging lots of money.

aprescollection2New Yorkers  UM Project, featured on We Heart, are doing something refreshingly charitable in time for Christmas. Following Hurricane Sandy’s onslaught of the NE coast of America, UM have salvaged some materials and created three lamps and three ‘vessels’ out of them. These lovely industrial pieces are being auctioned off to help their friends at furniture design company Token get back on their feet after their premises were hit hard.

Great stuff, eh?
