Well if you can’t recycle it, eat it?

The quest for ever more sustainable design is hurtling forward in a number of fascinating directions. There’s recycling, upcycling, the use of sustainable materials and now… edible design?


New York designer Victor Vetterlein has ingeniously created the edible lamp. Made out of edible plastic (made from sea algae, vegetable glycerin, purified water, food colouring, and natural flavouring), he’s run an LED strip through it, which can be removed when you fancy a snack.
