The Italian job – rethought

The upcoming Tent London will not just be a celebration of British design – much of it will be dedicated to designers from Europe and beyond, and a celebration of the diversity of styles and trends.

Beplushave are an exciting outfit from Italy. Saying Italian design usually conjures up images of beautiful, curvaceous design that oozes with the Italian appreciation of femininity – but these guys are different, and not in a bad way.

Their new collection is uses geometric shapes in a genuinely creative and fun way, and combines this with outrageous uses of clashing, bright colours that shouldn’t work but just… do.

The use of bold colour and the prominent use of diamond and triangular shapes offsets the clean lines – this is modern design, but it is not clinical. These pieces are another fine example of the increased injection of fun into furniture design, and we love it.
