Allan Lake’s Magic Touch

For those of you into clinical, clean-lined modern design, look away now. Allan Lake, based in Huddersfield is the very opposite – and we love him for it.

His pieces are tactile, fun, and dare we use this word – ‘wacky’. The term ‘eclectic’ is applied to almost anything, nowadays, but I think it could be used for Allan’s work. Using a variety of British hardwoods sourced from sustainable forests, his sculpted pieces are fantastically and unashamedly quirky.

The aesthetic playfulness has not taken away from the functionality of the items. For more about Allan and his great work, click on his site.
