James Tattersall at Clerkenwell

Based in Hackney, James Tattersall is another young designer exhibiting at this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week. His exhibition has three pieces of his new furniture collection – the ‘Plan Desk’, modular ‘Bylights’ and a new stool, the ‘Massey Seat’, inspired by traditional tractor seats.

As well as his furniture, he is also exhibiting a collection of skateboards made in collaboraation with printmaker Katy Goutefanga. Called ‘Six&Eight Boards’ (a modern twist on Cockney rhyming slang), the pair are producing small batches of handcrafted Longboards with lovely screen-printed veneers.

Showing at the House of Detention, James’ work is functional but stylish. See his site for more.
