Yoav Avinoam’s Sawdust Innovation

Israeli designer Yoav Avinoam has a really interesting take on what should be done with waste from the wood industry. He uses the sawdust taken from different kinds of wood and presses it with resin into a mold which already includes all of the object parts.

The result are pieces with a really unique texture and aesthetic – both rustic and modern, with an almost spongy, crumbly look. With sustainable materials increasingly in vogue, this is a really inventive solution to the problem of wood waste.

Your bench is amazing! I also have been looking for ways to use all the wood waste, but you nailed it.

What do you think?
